From their name alone, Teddy Bear puppies are already getting much love and attention from the public. I would think that anyone would love a cute teddy bear in the form of a small and friendly dog.  This type of dog is becoming more and more famous, and I am not surprised if it will soon be a favorite breed in all countries around the world.

Teddy Bear Puppies And Their Parents

It was during the turn of the millennium, during the early year two thousands, when this Teddy Bear dog was introduced. The dog is actually a mix of two of the most well-known and adorable companion dog breeds, the Shih Tzu and the Bichon Frise. Thus, it has also come to be known as the Zuchon or Shuchon. All the dogs I know of this breed are small in size, have soft and fluffy fur, and have amiable temperament. The Shih Tzu and the Bichon Frise have actually worked their way to the hearts of dog lovers who had limited space and required a dog who would not be too noisy, and would not require much exercise.

Cute And Fluffy Teddy Bear Puppies

The Teddy Bear puppy takes well after its cute and lovable parents. Since the two breeds look much like each other, their combination is not surprisingly very compatible and has resulted into an even more adorable and amiable breed. Teddy Bear dogs or the Shuchon/Zuchon variety are all small in stature and continue to be so even up to adulthood. A full-grown adult dog will grow to approximately twelve inches in height, and will weigh in at only twelve to fourteen pounds. Their fur continues to grow longer as well but can be groomed to maintain any desirable length. These dogs are also known to have round faces, with the ears flopped down, and a snubbed nose on a short muzzle that goes well with big round eyes. Either from afar or on a close-up level, anyone can see how these dogs have come to be known as the Teddy Bear breed.

Friendly Companion

Even more endearing than the absolute cuteness of this dog is its friendly temperament. Dogs of this type have been found to generally posses a friendly attitude. My experience has also showed me that they are eager to please their humans and are also very intelligent and can be trained well. These dogs will also often be seen wanting the company of their humans rather than other dogs.  The good thing is, they are also a quiet breed who only barks when needed.

Taking Care Of Your Teddy Bear Puppy

Teddy Bear PuppiesTaking care of this Teddy Bear dog is not unlike caring for a Shih Tzu or a Bichon Frise. I have a Shih Tzu myself, and we are always careful of making sure that it is well maintained. Grooming should be done regularly. This includes cleaning of the ears, and especially the eye and muzzle area. Of course, we also make sure that our dog receives the right amount of love and care, and taking care of Teddy Bear puppies should not be any different.
